"Job Summary: Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds to form fiberglass shrouding, automotive assemblies, wastewater treatment and or other custom molded products while compacting and removing air bubbles.
• Release air bubbles and smooth seams, using rollers and brushes – Rolling is the process of removing air from fiberglass laminate (fiberglass resin and catalyst mixture) using a tool called a roller.
• Roller must be capable of meeting the physical requirements of transporting molds from workspace to workspace
• Select precut fiberglass mats, cloth, and wood-bracing materials as required by projects being assembled.
• Pat or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes or hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles
• Mix catalysts into resins, and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures, using brushes.
• Apply layers of plastic resin to mold surfaces prior to placement of fiberglass mats, repeating layers until products have the desired thicknesses and plastics have jelled.
• Bond wood and foam reinforcing strips to parts using resin-saturated fiberglass – some hand sanding will be required
