About the Role

"Summary:
The Welder fabricates and assembles metal structures and produces metal products according to customer and employer specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc or other welding equipment

· Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications or drawings

· Follows weld and assembly requirements of drawings for assigned product by using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

· Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc

· Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs

· Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

· Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced.

· ATTENDANCE: Good attendance includes reporting to work on time, sticking to work schedules, being prepared to start work on time, remaining on the job during the workday to complete assigned duties and limited use of unscheduled leave.

· QUALITY: Every employee has the responsibility “to do it right the first time” in order to provide the customer a product that meets their requirements

· SAFETY: All employees will wear required safety equipment and comply with company safety rules, procedures and policies at all times

· ACCOUNTIBILITY: Every employee will accept responsibility for the quantity and quality of their work and strive towards excellence.

Qualifications:
· 1+ years of MIG welding experience or equivalent training

· Successful completion of CIT weld test

· Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

· Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)

· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

· Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, PPE, etc.)

· Deftness and attention to detail

· Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
