CDL Truck Driver

AgBest is currently seeking CDL Truck Drivers for our Gaston, Dunkirk, and Hartford City locations. Daily tasks will include operating equipment, loading and unloading product, driving tender trucks, operating semi-tractor trailer units, and general labor related to daily plant operations. Class B CDL is required; Class A CDL is preferred. Applicants must pass background checks and a pre-employment drug screen. AgBest offers competitive pay and outstanding benefits.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Primary responsibilities and duties include:
• Provide professional labor services in all capacities, including loading and unloading, performing checks, handling maintenance issues, completing repairs, tracking inventory, driving, and providing customer service.
• Effectively communicate with the Manager as well as with customers, drivers, vendors, and office staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete logs and inspection documentation on time as required.
• Participate in training and pass certification processes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty to a level deemed satisfactory by the Area Manager. Successful candidates will be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, an outstanding work ethic, and a dedication to delivering results during seasons of highest demand. Class B CDL is required; Class A CDL is preferred. Candidate will be required to work Monday through Friday and some weekends as deemed necessary.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel, bend, reach overhead with hands and arms, finger keys (like keyboarding, controls on a scanner, fax, etc.), climb, balance, or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to work for extensive periods at computer keyboarding.
• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 70lbs.
• May be required to work at varying heights.
• Ability to hear within normal range.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
• Ability and willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and on-call as business conditions warrant (primarily Spring and Fall).
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in possible extreme weather conditions, including cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.
• Ability to travel independently to customer locations.
• Possible exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures in place.
• Job location- must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to beginning work.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
