Parks Dept - Part Time Laborer - Cabin Cleaner

"PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Incumbent serves as a Laborer for the Parks and Recreation Department. Incumbent must maintain appearance of park grounds and Parks and Recreation Department offices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintains park grounds by routinely picking up trash, emptying trash barrels, delivering trash to dump site.

2. Cleans and sanitizes park rest rooms as needed.

3. Maintains appearance of Park and Recreation Department offices by sweeping, mopping floors, dusting furniture and fixtures, cleaning and sanitizing rest rooms, and emptying office trash receptacles.

4. Cleans garage area by sweeping, cleaning walls and floors with cleaning chemicals.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures proper functioning of assigned vehicles and equipment by regularly checking fluid levels, mechanical functions, tires, and lights.

2. Performs related duties as assigned.

3. Shoveling snow in park's and the community center.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Incumbent performs duties both in and out-of-doors, and is exposed to inclement weather, dust, and dirt. Duties require frequent bending and lifting of park trash barrels and tools. Heavy lifting of 50-100 pounds is frequently required for regular periods of time.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to physically perform custodial and clean up activities including lifting trash barrels of up to 100 pounds. (M,P)

3. Working knowledge of safety procedures for working in or around department equipment, and cleaning chemicals. (M,P)

4. Possess a valid driver's license. (M,P)
