"The Environmental Technician will inspect and perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance of plant environmental controls and monitoring equipment to meet all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
What You'll Do:
• Repair and maintain all plant environmental controls and monitoring equipment under the direction of the Environmental Project Engineer.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties with limited supervision, utilizing blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Train and assist other personnel in repairs, adjustments, operations, and testing of environmental control systems.
• Use specialized testing equipment to evaluate environmental equipment operational effectiveness.
• Work with manufacturer's representatives and outside technicians to effect repairs beyond the capacity of the plant level.
• Conduct minor electrical maintenance such as replacing fuses, motors, or switches.
• Work with area maintenance supervisors to effectively plan, schedule, and execute the work of plant environmental equipment.
• Participate in outside audits, stormwater checks, and sampling, visible emission audits, stack testing, waste collection, other sources of streams for sampling, etc.
• Record and retrieve data and procedures utilizing computer-based resources.
• Communicate effectively with plant management and regulatory agency personnel.
• Facilitate audits conducted by regulatory groups.
• Train and share information with plant personnel regarding environmental compliance.
• Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
• Participate in area continuous improvement efforts, including Employee Involvement activities.
• Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.

• Able to work overtime as assigned."
